Parents' Weekend Nov 12-14

In sussing out travel plans for 2010 parents' weekend I can arrive either later or earlier on Friday the 12th, and was wondering if there are typically parents' events on the PM and evening of the Friday of that weekend that are "worthwhile" to attend.

Thanks!

We attended this a year ago and I honestly can’t remember anything about Friday night. There was something but we must’ve either skipped it or it was not memorable at all.

However, one never knows what the next year’s weekend agenda will be like. It could be much better.

the calendar for last year is still online http://new.oberlin.edu/calendar/parents_weekend.dot?startYear=2009&endYear=2010</a>
Friday events included a Dean’s Wine and Cheese reception, concerts by the orchestra and the Obertones, an Improv fundraiser, and a dance event. So there will probably be quite a wealth of offerings this year too.

. . . for posting that link to last year

had looked; could not find; nice retrieval

looks like we’re be the for Friday evening in hopes that similar musical treats abound

12 days 'til move in day :-)

This will be my third trip to Oberlin with junior year visit and audition weekend but my H has never been. We opted NOT to bring him for move-in and let him experience Parents’ Weekend instead. I think he will be much more impressed with the calibre of activity. His ADD would be “life-threatening” in the chaos of move-in. (keep those sharp objects out of my hands) Thanks for the link. Looks like they have tons going on. He has asked if there was a football game, too, and I’m guessing there is. The football schedule says a home game with Case Western on 10/9/2010 but that’s a Tuesday. I can’t imagine they have their games on Tuesdays.

I can so relate to that POTO Mom! Those rooms are way too small for ADD Dads. On move-in day we sent him multiple times on errand runs.

@POTO Mom: 10/9 is a Saturday.
