My Asian parents are fine with whatever path I choose, although some of their friends keep saying I shouldn’t “waste my brain” by not becoming a doctor. Right now I want to become a Chemical Engineer/Chemistry Professor, but of course it is tentative.

All my parents care about is being successful. Both my parents are MDs, but only my mom badgers me about being a doctor. Sometimes she badgers me about engineering too.

(Note: People with non-native parents understand me. Its either MD, JD, or Engineering lol)

I want to work on Wall Street, then in Congress or the US Treasury. They decided it was “prestigious” enough (more than my last career choice, pro basketball player :D), so now they’re behind me 100%.

For the record, African parents

I dunno. I think my dad would have a hard time paying for a part of my college education if I was majoring in something like “art history” or even Liberal Arts. He wouldn’t mind, as along as I had a very good plan of what I was going to do after I actually get my degree.

It’s a good thing I want to do what both my parents want me to do

Firstly mom try to convince me to become a doctor and dad want me to study engineer or bussiness
but I fight for my dream until now they sick with me lol and accept my way ^_^

my asian parents aren’t too happy that i’m going into RTVF right now but they reluctantly let me do it. but my dad doesn’t hesitate to remind me about preparing to get a job and taking business courses on the side…
