parents won't co-sign

I just applied for transfer and got into Wellesley College. Wellesley is something like 42k a year, and my parents have said that they are willing to pay 35k a year for college. We don't qualify for need based aid (at least last year we didn't, I got my acceptance online and am still waiting for the financial aid packet to arrive with my official acceptance letter), and my parents have said that they won't co-sign a loan. Is there any place that I can go to get a loan for 7-10k a year for three years (some of my others schools I'm still waiting to hear from cost a little more) and don't need a co-signer for? Thanks so much for any advice! I am absolutely not staying where I am (UVM) so if I can't pay get a loan from anywhere then I guess I'll just defer for a semester, work ridiculously hard and save up the money, but I really, really don't want to do that and don't see how I could do that for three years. Thanks!

bump, please

Remember , you can get $3500 in your own name if y'all filled out the fafsa (without regard to need) in an unsubsidized stafford loan. Bust your rear over the summer , that's another $2 to $2500. There may be some private no cosignor note at Wellesley for the rest. Call them.

curmudgeon-is your pm box always full or are you just too popular for your own good? And was it you who entered a dyslexia joke into the too contentious fray of that recent discussion that was then completely removed?(may have been barrons) If so, Happy Wester!

I'm in the same situation and I explained it to my aunt. Without me even asking, she offered to cosign. Of course I don't want to impose on her, but I need all kinds of options right now. If you have other family members to consider, it could help a lot.

rorosen, my pm box is empty now. It does have a tendency to fill up. Sometimes with love letters, sometimes with anthrax . You just never know. As to the dyslexia joke I plead "not quilty". I only know one dyslexia joke, and it's about the dyslexic agnostic. I'm fairly sure I didn't tell it.;)
