We moved D in Monday. Her room is beautiful and so far everything is going well. She passed the test that everyone was required to take and is anxious about class selection and next week.

The women on the welcoming team were friendly and helpful and word has it that the food is very good too. The campus is just stunning.

We just Facetimed tonight. My D is also happy but getting a bit bored with Orientation and wants classes to start. She is in a triple; horrible room, but great dorm in great location. Everyone and everything is to her liking so far.

Campus is breathtakingly beautiful. Food is wonderful. The upperclasswomen welcoming and mentoring are wonderful. DD’s schedule is set and she is ready to roll.

Tip for class registration: Record the CRN (course registration number) of each class you want to take, as well as two or three back-up classes. Get ready to type them in quickly. Every freshman registers at the same time, so classes fill up fast; you don’t want to be rushing to find the CRNs in order to enter your class choices.

Even better: put your CRNs in a word document and copy and paste come registration time.
Also, prepare backup plans in case you don’t get your first choices. Also, triple check that your schedule actually makes sense (ie you haven’t double scheduled yourself anywhere). Overkill? No, you/your D goes to Wellesley, there is now no such thing as overplanning!

D LOVES it! Move-in was hectic mostly because of our flight delays and the cascading effects - her double room is tiny but she and roomie don’t care - they love the dorm, the other girls and thrilled with each other - so happy! I know she and roomie already have accepted invites to two parties at MIT so they are getting plugged into everything quickly. (gather my info from her FB posts)

She hasn’t been telling me much about registration, but know she met with her academic adviser yesterday - not even sure when they register. She has really cut the ties and loving Wellesley and college life!!!
