Hello, everyone! I just wanted to let you know that if you were evaluated as a likely candidate for admission, you should be receiving a letter soon from a current Wellesley student. You're welcome (and encouraged!) to contact that student if you have any questions or want to learn more about your particular academic areas of interest at Wellesley. Letter-writers are matched to potential students based on majors, so the person who contacts you should be able to answer your questions about the school. (If you put down English as a major on your application, I may be the person writing to you.)

And, as always, I'm also available to answer any questions you may have!

I received one from the senior assistant director of admissions, does that count? She’s not a current student (she listed her year), but she gave me her contact info. Will I receive something else as well?

Officially admitted students (aka after you get the admit letter, not just the likely letter) will also be getting letters from alums. Depending where you live, you’ll also be invited to welcome receptions with local alumnae clubs (mostly in major cities in the US and other countries)

My daughter just got her student letter today. I think it was helpful to her because the girl mentioned that she hadn’t really been sure Wellesley was her top choice (my daughter isn’t either, but is very glad that she is likely to get in), but was now happy she chose it. She also mentioned some of the concerns she’d had at the beginning, and how her experiences really laid them to rest.

We both appreciated the student’s honesty, because I don’t think it would have helped my daughter to hear a student recite a recruiting brochure. At this point, she is sick to death of the entire process and just wants to know where she is going to be next autumn!

I believe only students who received an early evaluation of “likely” received a note. If your daughter didn’t do EE, or did and received a “possible”, don’t sweat it. From what I understand, all admitted students will eventually receive one. I guess to answer your question, yes, there is still a chance. Good luck tomorrow!
