Parsons New School of Design or FIT?

I'm a senior in high school applying for college of Fall 2014. I am very passionate about Fashion and I want to apply to a rigorous fashion school. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about either school? I take Fashion design in high school, I've participated in a fashion show where I created a dress and customized it for my self and I plan on putting that either in my portfolio, my essay, or both. I also plan on taking Advanced Fashion Design at my school a new class as a senior.

Is fashion design your intended major? Parsons only has the art and design aspects of fashion, also has a very well-known reputation like FIT, they just don’t have the business majors. Both programs are very similar, I would imagine. Both amazing schools. You’d have to take other things in consideration to decide, tuition, job placement, etc.

Both schools are really good for Fashion. Parsons has a nice network pool, and their strong suit is easily their seminars, as they invite working professionals in the field who also sit in on in class critiques. FIT, however, hands down, has the better career service center and their job fairs are excellent, whereas in my experience, Parsons is hit and miss and the companies that show up tend to be a mixed bag (Though if you’re interested in advertising, they sometimes get really good names once in a blue moon, but they’re usually only interested in scooping up unpaid labor). I find that FIT has a better system/network for finding internships and job opportunities than Parsons, even if you are outside the Fashion field.
