I'm a freshman in college and I'm looking for a credit architecture program in the US and now narrow down to Parsons and Pratt. But the problem is:

for Pratt, it charges about $ 3100 for 3 credits, 3h per day, 4 days per wk, one month long. ( --> $ 3100 for 48 hours)

for Parsons, $ 3700 also for 3 credit, 7 hours per day, 5 days per wk, also one month long. ( --> $ 3700 for 140 hours)

although parsons looks more expensive, it has a lot more hours

Also, how's the quality of both programs? is there anyone attended either one before? I'm thinking about taking architecture as my major but I haven't taken any arch course yet. So I want to take the summer course as a warm up. Or is there any better program I may choose? (I do not have to take it in NYC actually)

How do you think about the two programs? Thanks =D=D=D

Pratt Pratt Pratt.
Rankings wise if you just look at the programs–even though it would be a summer program – Pratt has one of the top 5 architecture programs in the country.

Pratt has better facilities, but the faculty and work coming out of Parsons is far superior to that of Pratt. While both programs are very artistic and theoretical, Parsons has more of a commitment to the practicalities of architectural practice, while the program at Pratt is much more abstract.

PM and ask prokenapetures if s/he changed mind once started there, have been the biggest Pratt advocate.

bit out of topic but I’ve been wondering, what are the differences in arch between brain schools (MIT, Cornell, CMU) or art schools (others) ?
How and when do you know which way you want to go and why? simply put, is it really come down to how good at math SAT GPA?
You can still built something like Guggenheim bilbao or casa batllo even though you went to brain school, is that right?
What then, the reason to choose art school over cheaper well rounded Wow! schools for the neighbors?
What do you mean by abstract arch? I mean, people still have to live or walk in and around them.
