Parties at Davidson & Richmond

Our D has a list of a schools to choose from and we are trying to access fit. I’ve got a few random questions left and this is one.

What is the party scene like at these two schools? Parties mostly on weekends? Are they all at fraternity houses/eating houses? Are all kids allowed and who really goes (meaning if they are “open” are they truly open?) What are these parties like? Low key or can they get rowdy?

I know Davidson is probably seen as a less fun place in this regard. I like a lot ofI things about Davidson but D doesn’t want a super quiet campus. As for Richmond, it sounds like the frat parties allow all women but most would not go unless they are part of the “right” sororities. Where does that leave the non-Greek kids? Mostly parties in rooms in dorms and upperclassmen apartments?

I think i have a grasp on the party scene at the other schools on her list. And it’s not that she’s a big partier but this is one way for us to try to understand the social vibe. I know both schools sponsor other social things to do but have also heard that kids don’t do them that much. Looking for what a typical fun weekend might look like if one is a social kid!

Just tried sending you a PM but I’m not sure if it went though. I’m a dork. :woman_facepalming: Let me know if you didn’t receive it and I’ll resend.

Yeah worried about loud dorm parties at Colgate versus nothing but small get togethers at Davidson versus frat parties at Richmond that aren’t inclusive.

The other schools on her list are a little bigger and we have a better idea about the social vibes there for better or worse. Lol.

Is Duke or WashU on the list? Curious about what is going with Greek life at those places. Was reading that a lot of the members quit saying the system could not be reformed to be made safe and inclusive.

No. She’s deciding between Davidson, Richmond, Colgate, BC, and Lehigh so far.

Boston and BC are hard to beat for all around well roundedness and social options.

Yes we know the scene there. Trying to get a handle on the two schools in the title of my post. Thank you!

I have had good results posting vibe questions about a college in the specific forum for that college. Alumni, students and admins tend to populate those.
