I’ve visited and done an overnight at Colby, and I loved it. I am also being recruited by Haverford for tennis. I have not visited Haverford yet, but the coach wants me to commit to applying early. I know Haverford is an incredible school academically, but I’m wondering how it compares to Colby socially? I am very interested to know what the party scene at Haverford is like. If I’m really into partying, would I be happy with the social scene at Haverford?
I don’t know anything about this, but I would refer you to another thread.
There’s plenty of partying here at Haverford. No RAs so people can drink in the dorms as long as they are safe. Campus safety does not care all at about drugs and alcohol. It’s a really laissez faire approach, probably one of the only places where you can literally drink in front of a security guy and he won’t bother you.
Also, Haverford definitely has a stronger reputation than Colby, which does’t mean you should definitely choose Haverford, but does matter to some extent. If there is something that pulls you to Colby then go for it though. Also, in regards to @Daddio3, if @tennisplayer127 has strong stats and is being recruited, he will very likely be admitted.
There are regular parties, but be sure that the values of the Institution are a match with yours. The Honor Code isnt just an marketing gimic.
