So I've heard not only about the crazy/awesome parties that go on here but also about the extreme lack of ethnic diversity and the difficulty of finishing in 4 years. I don't want to be assuming these things without some reliable insight. Can anyone confirm, reject, or qualify these rumors?

Colorado is not a very diverse state, so, yes, probably it is not as diverse as one would like. The university does have about 30-40 percent from out of state so the diversity will come from other states. My son is a graduating this May in four years in engineering so not sure where you heard it is hard to graduate in four years. As to to the parties, there are parties at every college. You can partake in them or not, entirely up to you. Plenty of serious minded students attend there… And plenty do not party all the time. A lot do outdoor activities, ski, snowboard, hike, participate in intramural sports, etc… Lots to do there that does not involve constant partying.
