Knowing someone

My cousin works at a college that I really want to transfer to. Just wondering if this will help me in gaining admissions or if something like that does not have much bearing on whether or not I get accepted?

how high up is your cousin ^_^

some sort of administrator I think fairly high up

my dad used to be a prof at UCB and my grandfather is a prof at Duke...yet even if I wanted to go to those schools they couldn't do much about it. mainly because their field is not my field...they might be able to push my application near the top but Id still have to have an outstanding app

best thing to do is to ask your friend if anything could be done...

Yeah, it is just University of Colorado, I consider myself to be a strong candidate there, since I am out of state I just was hoping for a small edge.

i don't think you'll need an extra edge in obtaining admission to the university of colorado -_-

haha is it that easy? I am kind of worried because it is a backup school for me but at the same time i'd love to attend

It's a huge party school. If that's what you're looking for, go for it.

Well it also has great research programs, that is why I am interested, along with the mountains and outdoor activities. Any college is a party school unless you go to Bob Jones University or are a loser.

That is true, burgler09. However, CU has a reputation for thriving when it comes to partying. People hear CU and they associate it as a party school. And employers will also do that. You cannot say the same about Stanford, Harvard, Duke, etc. CU might have some good programs, but they are overshadowed by the program in one-handed keg stands.
