pass/fail

can any one genearate a list of all the schools that have some form of a pass/fail curiculum or satisfactory/unsatisfactory grading policy
i know JHU(first semester) and Brown has them but what other schools have them??

Swarthmore also has credit/no credit policy. Freshman get only CR/NC grades for 1st yr classes (both semesters). After that, students can elect to receive CR/NC in up to 4 classes. Unlike Brown where students chose S/NC or letters grades within the shopping period (first 2weeks), Swarthmore allows students to wait and see how they're doing in their classes before choosing the grading system - and Swarthmore lets students switch back to letter grades after requesting CR/NC if they want.

" Credit/no credit deadline extended next semester

Late last week, the faculty approved a proposal to extend the deadline to declare or remove credit/no credit status on a class. Previously, credit/no credit (also called “pass/fail”) status had to be declared within two weeks from the start of classes (during the add/drop period); now students have until nine weeks into the semester to add or remove credit/no credit status."

MIT has pass/no record first semester and A/B/C/no record 2nd semester. It also lets you designate a maximum of two electives total from your junior+senior years as Pass/D/F.

Worcester Polytech - A,B,C or "no record." (You still pay $$$ for the courses you "no record" in though. ;) )

Swat's is only first semester, not all year (and then, as mentioned, the 4 additional ones whenever you want.)

any more any more??

SUNY Binghamton had no failing grades when I was there (LOL - in the late 70's).

keep posting!

I wouldn't suggest using this as a major factor for choosing schools, most schools have a very lenient window of opportunity for dropping/changing classes anyway.

Caltech is on p/f for your first two terms. You need it too... You can p/f a number of electives later on as well.

im just curious.....

bump bump bump any more
