Pass/No Pass question

Hey guys.
So I'm taking an African American History course (upper division) as apart of my GE and I am considering to take it pass/no pass. I think I could pull at least a B- (2.7), but I think long term this may actually lower my GPA. (My first quarter GPA wasn't too hot. 3.07)

What do you guys think? Pass/no pass? or just stick it out and go for a B+ or better.

*also do you guys think a public service minor might look good for admissions? I plan to do it regardless, but I just want to hear some opinions.

Minors don't matter. One or two P/NP courses probably won't hurt you, but don't make a habit of it.

i've taken 8 units of p/np classes at my university but they've been p/np only (seminars...research...etc.). does that matter? i've taken letter grade for all other classes

As long as you're talking a full courseload behind that, a couple extra classes should be fine.

alright. thnx.
*I only plan to take this current class and one more as pass no pass.

I forgot to mention that if this drops you below a normal courseload, it's probably not a good idea.

*i'm taking 14 units (3 classes) for a grade and just that one class (4 units) as pass/no pass. I think 12 units (3 classes) is the normal courseload?
