Do you bring your passport with you on I-Day?

Thanks

Not unless they tell you to. You won't be going anywhere.

I would leave the passport at home, and don't even send it over the summer. They won't need it and it's only going to get lost when they move at the end of the summer. (Lots to move and very little time to do so... not a good environment for valuables or important documents). Send it to them once they are settled into their new room in the academic year.

For our incoming Class of 2012 - if you do not already have a passport, consider applying for one before leaving for I-Day.

You will not need it during Plebe year, but summer training blocks may involve foreign port calls.

If you do not have a passport, apply for it before IDay. My Mid did need his during Plebe year and training youngster summer. There are some opportunities over the holidays and spring break that will require it. Mine sailed in the Med Sea over intercessional week, went on a foreign mission trip spring break with one of the religious EC's, and began summer cruise in a foreign port (Australia)

Would definately apply for one before I-Day. Would not bring it to the academy until you need it, at which time parents can mail.
