Path of study to become a surgeon

Hello everyone!!

I'm an 18 yo italian guy and I moved form Italy to Los Angeles, two years ago. I just earned my GED diploma, and my plans for a future career is to become a surgeon.
Now, can you guys please tell me which kind of college I should apply?
I'm a little bit confuse on how to proceede at this point.

Hope I explained well ^^ , thanks.

First and most important question: are you a US citizen or permanent resident?

If the answer is “no,” your chances for acceptance at any US medical school are very poor. (Most US med schools accept US citizens or PRs only.)

If you are a citizen or PR, then you can attend any accredited US college or university and be adequately prepared to take the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) and apply to medical school.

This thread contain much useful advice about how to choose a college:

~~~~
In the US, medicine is a graduate degree and you must first complete an undergraduate (baccalaureate) degree before you can apply to medical school.
The US medical education process is outlined here:
[Medical education in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Medical education in the United States - Wikipedia)
Apply to any college, get great college GPA, decent MCAT score, participate in medically related EC’s and apply to Med. School. Good luck!
Thanks guys! both very helpful :)
