im just wondering if anybody has any info on the business school here? i heard it was ranked top 50 nationally, so i guess irvine has a pretty good business program right? does anyone have info on this school, and the types of programs/fields it has? how is the internship process? if i graduate from UCI with a business degree, how good does it look on my resume?

i'm just a potential student, just curious about this business school, and UCI in general. i hope to attend here this fall. any info would be greatly appreciated.

The MBA program is probably what makes it ranked in the top 50’s, or even the top 30’s, not the undergrad prog.

They have never offered a business undergrad program from Merage before, so the undergrad program for Business Admin is very new, only a couple years old.

The school offers a BA in Business Admin, BS in BIM (Business Information Mgmt), and minors in accounting and mgmt.

All are selective and fairly competitive in their respective ways. It should be fairly easy finding internships, as long as you actually try and remain devoted. That means getting involved, joining the right clubs and gaining leadership positions and contacts (networking), attending career/internship fairs, etc.

I wouldn’t worry so much about how ‘good’ your resume will look for employers based on where you got the BA…

no i didn’t get in for business, but it was the major i picked when registering. i hope to do well and transfer into UCI’s business program.

however, i recently heard that UC’s business programs aren’t that good, since UC’s are targetted more towards students looking to go to graduate school. if i want to do business, cal state schools offer a better option since they’re more practical, and are cheaper.

but i worked really hard and want to go to UCI. thats why im wondering if its a good idea to work so hard to get into the business program. it is a good program right? if not, i have other areas of study to choose from. i know UCI has a strong medical field…
