Thanks, Hong. We are happy. Either school was a good option for him, so any acceptance is a good thing.

I asked which college each of you applied for because it appears that as they make their decisions they are updating their records to reflect which students can make their deposits. My guess is that the Harpur letters are probably going to be going out soon - since a few of you are able to make your deposit.
Since my son applied to Watson, I am glad to see that someone from that College was able to pay their deposit as of yesterday. Hopefully that means their letters will be going out within the next week also.
Good luck to all.

Well, I hope this is definitive but, it sure is a wacky way to find out!

I’m able to pay the deposit too!!! Very excited! I was deferred EA.

yeah i got into community affairs after applying to harpur. I can always transfer after a semester or two if i decide to go so it’s all good

Anyone get the letters yet? My friends who got their acceptances a few weeks ago all chose their major so I’m assuming the undecided part held their decision up.

“YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PAY ANY CURRENT ADMISSION DEPOSITS.”

I was deferred, still keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone.

My son is now able to pay a deposit for Watson - as of 3-10-11.
He was not able to do so as of yesterday.
Hopefully letters will start to arrive soon to put an end to everyone’s wait.

In response to my query about this “back door” info to admissions:

“BU communication is on it’s way, watch your email and mailbox”

I got an e-mail recently from Bing congratulating me for admission into SOM, i was wondering should i wait for the mail before taking a step forward, or consider the e-mail as an official notification.
I am an international student (India) .

Stage4survivor, thanks for posting that response up. Huh, talk about vague; what do you all take that response to mean? There is no saying whether “BU communication” can be taken to mean a rejection or acceptance. And “on its way” could be taken to mean now all the way up to April. Or maybe I’m just looking too much into it; very apprehensive for actual decisions, haha.

I’m convinced that this “back door” way of finding out if you are accepted to Binghamton works. After reading this thread, D checked and was able to pay her deposit. A few days later the big green acceptance packet came!

I was able to log into the deposit site on March 9th and son’s acceptance letter arrived today. So that took 8 days. Big green envelope for St. Patrick’s Day!! ;-)

Same goes for me! I checked the deposit site on March 8th and was eligible for a deposit. I got my green acceptance letter today! Got into UG Harpur Undeclared. Good luck to you all.

Well think about it folks, the paydeposit becomes active after they admit you as that is when you would pay your deposit. There is however a chance that a system error may occur and allow deposits to be paid prior to being admitted. I would suggest the eager student to check the pay deposit site as a way to find a absolute negative, but not use it to check for an absolute positive.

I did receive mine today though and of course the paydeposit is now active. Good luck to everyone else.

Juicec - The paydeposit is actually a better way to check for an absolute positive than an absolute negative (rejection). If your application has not been processed yet or if you have been waitlisted - then your paydeposit will NOT be active. If your application was processed and you were accepted, then your paydeposit would be active. I HIGHLY doubt that the school would not double check the list of those that have been activated in the paydeposit system. It would be tremendously embarassing for Binghamton to have to contact someone that made a deposit to tell them that there was a mistake made in their system. Especially with the fact that many have recieved notification by email of acceptance and the school really has no way of knowing for sure if you recieved the notification letter in the USPS mail.
It would be a lot less embarassing if an accepted student had to call to get their paydeposit activated due to an error in their system.

I got in yesterday:))))))

After being deferred EA, my D officially got into Watson today by mail! She’s thrilled. And, the link worked!

Paydeposit started working 3/9 - acceptance letter for Watson in the mail today.
