Paying application fees (fee waiver?)

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>This is my first time posting here so I don't know if this has been asked before. If it has please tell me.</p>

<p>I am an international applying to US college. The total cost of my test fees and application fees are looking to exceed $1000.</p>

<p>My parents can't really pay this much (at least not all) and I can't either. Its impossible for a teenager to find part time work where I live or I would do it.</p>

<p>Since I'm an international I'm not allowed to request an SAT fee waver.</p>

<p>But I heard that if you directly email the schools and explain they may waive the application fee for you.
is this true?
HAs anyone heard anything like this?</p>

<p>Yes, colleges that will consider international students for full financial aid do occasionally waive the application fee for the neediest applicants. To find out which colleges do and if you’d qualify, you’d have to contact each university individually.</p>
