I wasn't too sure where to post this, as it is my first post, but here's my question. I'm a med school hopeful (..though it seems like everyone is these days) and I'm trying to sort out finances before I actually decide on my future path. Since a majority of med students obviously don't have the time to work, how do the pay for their living expenses (i.e. rent)?

How do you think almost all studentspay for these things? Debt.

I plan on taking out loans for tuition and that stuff obviously, I just didn't know if apartment-rent could be included in those loans... Debt is one of the furthest things from my mind since I'm already $30k in...

Apartment rent can be depending on what type of loan you take out. If its a loan through the school then most likely no. If its from other places then maybe. Either way at most schools out of state you are talking about $200,000 or so of debt for 4 years with only loans.

Try for scholarships, grants, grad assistantships before you commit to the whole "all loan" route. Sorry I strayed away from your original question though!

I'm still trying to figure out the whole living thing myself :-
