Peace Corps and Grad School?

So I was on the Peace Corps site and found that they have programs set up with various grad schools so that your Peace Corps service can be counted as academic credit.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this? Also I was curious to see if grad schools who aren't part of the Peace Corps program (Master's International, Fellows/USA) could be convinced to grant credit for Peace Corps service.

I am thinking about doing grad work in some sort of interdisciplinary environment combining political science and post colonial/sub altern theory. I thought it would be a insightful experience to actually work in a developing environment, since most academic discourse is so isolated from the reality that these people face.

bump please

The Peace Corps can be very useful experience prior to graduate work in the areas you describe.

Programs that do not already have such an arrangement in place (MI, Fellows) do not have the flexibility to create one just for you. Graduate credit is not awarded for previous experience.
