I’ve got accepted to five private boarding schools in America and shortened my list to Westminster School and Peddie School! I cannot decide and im so loooost. If anyone can comment on this two schools (I.e advantages and disadvantages). I’ve researcted a lot but still unsure about the choice. Will appreciate any help! Thank you
You may get better opinions if you state a bit about what YOU want out of a school, what sort of environment you are looking for, specific sports you want etc. It is hard to advise someone when so much of the decision is based on opinion and personal goals. I suggest you type “peddie” and then “Westminster” into the search box. Then you can read every post written on each school. You may find answers there. Good luck. It is exciting for you to have a choice.
I have researched this lots of times. I found westminster as more conservative and home-style school. Dorms are incredible, people in there are very friendly and I kind of fell in love with the school. And as I heard, academics in there are strong as well. Peddie is a a great school as well but dorms are very cold, not very comfortable. However, science is very important for me, and as i know, peddie has an incredible science program. I’m just scared to make a wrong choice and both of these schools are very good! I just donno of academics is better in one of them, ir chances to get into a great university. Maybe someone here can tell me more about them. Thank you anyways
As GMT+7 often emphasizes travel, Westminster in Connecticut is 3 hrs by car from JFK airport and Peddie in New Jersey is 1 hr 30 min from JFK so that’s one aspect.
What activities are you into? Both have swimming pools and Peddie is great with swimming.
Westminster is about 390 students total, Peddie 550, so larger.
Westminster has a formal dress code (shirt, tie, jacket), Peddie is less formal.
Both are great schools.
I’m more an art girl. But regarding sports: tennis, squash, volleyball and skiing
Although a bit old data, more of Peddie students seem to go Top/Strong colleges than Westminster students.

It doesn’t mean that academics is much better in either. Just it means they attract different kids, which may or may not help you in going to Strong schools.
You would get to know more kids who go to Top colleges out of Peddie than out of Westminster. I know a lot of people who went to top schools. I also was in a class with someone who became a billionaire with a startup. I don’t know how valuable that is to me. Very little value.
