I agree with tokyorevelation9 about Mercersburg. We had it down on our initial boarding school list because it met all our criteria. We took it off the list because it was too far from our home. We are in the northeast, and there were many closer to home.

On a recent driving trip to Virginia, we took a look slight detour and took a look at Mercersburg. It was a lovely campus next to a charming village. It was a sunny day with blue skies and the stained glass windows in the gothic-style chapel were magnificent! If Mercersburg were in New England, it would be very competitive.

Peddie's low acceptance rate is deceptive because of the huge number of day student apllications it receives. I suspect it is easier to be accepted to Peddie than Mercersburg as a boarder. Mercersburg's campus is spectacular and its facilities are on a par with Lawrenceville's and Hill's and better than Peddie's.

if i went to peddie i would be 10 miles away from a very good friend.. and 5 mi. aw=ay from my uncle and 20 miles away from 2 aunts and a grandmother (rumson area)..hmm.. i dont think im going to apply though.

We looked at Mercersburg a few years ago. I thought the campus was beautiful and we were impressed, but it is simply too remote. Blair cross country won't even travel there to run meets.

God, it would be such a drag to add another school now. I can't imagine doing that, unless maybe some fairy told me that I was going to get rejected from every school I applied to. :D
