Hi everyone! I was accepted to Bucknell University with presidental fellows program, but decided to attend another school. My best friend was waitlisted from bucknell, and I am thinking about writing a letter of reccomendation for her along with the letter for declining the offer. Do you think it can help or hurt her? (Assuming the reccomendation is good)
It will neither hurt nor help her. I’m sorry but your recommendation carries no weight
I know that it might not carry any weight in terms of my “qualifications,” but I anyways wrote the reccomendation, as I think closer insight into her personality might be somewhat helpful. Actually, I do not know if that means anything, but they wrote me a personalized letter back, saying that they appreciate my efforts to advocate for my friend.
Any estimates on when Bucknell will begin admitting from the waitlist?
Good for you, @maryem, for trying to assist your friend. I suspect it won’t make a huge difference, but maybe, just maybe if she was on the cusp, some Admissions officer might like the camaraderie it suggests. Hope she got in off the waitlist. My son is going to Bucknell, I will send good vibes.
