Hey guys. I wrote a peer recommendation for my best friend who applied to Dartmouth before I decided I wanted to apply, also. I trust her most to write a good recommendation for me. Here's the question: do you think that the admissions office would frown upon this? I guess I'll call and ask but I want to know what you guys think.

bump. aka help. i've never done a bump

That's so weird, I came here to post the exact same question. I can't really see how it would matter...I hope it doesn't anyway.

I can't see how it would be frowned upon. If you are best friends, then that is probably the best person to write it. Odds are, the adcom might not even know it. They go through so many apps, they probably won't remember the name of the friend who wrote yours, and vice versa, and then connect the two.

I did that last year, and I don't think it was a problem. It might not be the best idea, and I think the regional director would be able to match up the names, but it's OK if that is the best person to write for you.

the best part is that i live in florida, while she is in maryland. hopefully that will make it a little easier.
