A friend asked me to write a Peer Recommendation for her. I have more than enough to say, but I am not sure how exactly to say it. Unlike the college essay that we are all writing, I am guessing that the Peer Rec should be formal. Anyways, if anyone here has ever written one or has any tips on doing so, please share. Thank you very much!

Don't just talk about how smart they are. Give some anecdotes that illustrate that.

just like normal recs, give specifics. u can write like your teacher does.

Great! Thanks for the tips.

Make sure to back up positive aspects of her personality, too. Don't make it too much like a teacher wrote it; branch out into some things that her teachers won't be able to convey in their recs.

do u think peer recs are helpful??

Well... I hope so. These particular recs are not sent to the colleges. Instead, the counselors at my school use them to gather more information, so that they could write better school recommendations
