If my FAFSA EFC = 0, is the Pell Grant and academic competitiveness grant, basically guaranteed for me? The FAFSA site said I'm eligible for these awards, but I was wondering if it's still further selective, or everyone with this low EFC will get it?

I also meet the other requirement (rigorous secondary school schedule) for the ACG.

The Pell should be automatic. It is based on the EFC and anyone who is eligible for it gets it. The school will have to verify that you meet the criteria for ACG before they can award it to you. When my daughter started college the ACG was awarded to her very late, just before class started as far as I can remember. It is a complicated award to administer as the school must verify that you are eligible based on meeting the rigorous program requirement, and that you continue to be eligible based on the number of credit hours while you are in college (there have been some very upset students posting here who have lost it early in because their AP credits bumped their credit hours up high enough to push them out of eligibility).
