Pencil Malfunction

Okay, I lied. I malfunctioned, not the pencil.

I suppose I bubbled in too darkly on the SAT today. When I was checking to make sure my answer key had no stray eraser shavings in it, I noticed that my pencil had bled through--a lot. It only bled through to some answer spaces that didn't have questions and that column in between the two rows of answers. I used a #2 Ticonderoga.

Will this be a problem? If I get it hand-scored, will they count the marks that bled through as mistakes?

Mine bled through as well

That happens to me all the time! Always have to erase the bleed on the other side. If you erased the bleed, you should be fine. If you didnt, they might go off as stray marks.

Ok now you’re scaring me. I finished SAT and I looked at booklet and saw that my answers bled through (cheap SAT booklets…) but didn’t have a chance to erase them. Should I worry?

I don’t think you should worry but obviously if it’s really bothering you, contact CB and see what can be done in terms of hand grading

Can you answer this please?

I took the SAT and made the most idiotic mistake in the books. I finished my math section and hadn’t finished the last two but please don’t think I went back to finish them. I was working on my writing when I saw a random question in the middle of my math not bubbled and I was convinced I had miss bubbled so I panicked and went back to see if my answers corresponded twice just to not get in trouble with the proctor. My proctor came over and said “stop going back. This is the second time I’ve seen you do that” and I apologized and stopped. I feel so horrible but I need this sat score for a college scholarship so I freaked out. I don’t know if he filed an irregularity report or not. Does he have to tell me if he does? Or get me to sign something? I’m so worried and would really like to hear your opinions. Thanks guys

Didn’t have a chance to erase. Sigh…

Nish did your proctor ask for your name or anything? If he says he reported it to collegeboard, you should contact them. If he didn’t you should be fine

Verbose I think you should be fine. I stopped worrying because scantron machines aren’t stupid. I remember thinking I completely messed up bubbling AP Exam and I got a 5
