ED TO LSM and Ben Frankin Scholars. Sooooo nervousssssssssssssss

Yeah disgradius, I was thinking of doing the same majors as you. How’s the workload? And how many classes are you taking per semester with that double major?

Just 6 actually, most of my electives were in polisci anyways so I decided to just pick up the second degree. You do have to do all the college requirements on top of the wharton ones though which is kinda annoying. Workload is pretty meh. Never got really busy but then again I work pretty fast and test well. If you pay attention during class you can get away with minimal studying, I usually only do like 6 hours the night before a midterm. Only do required homework and crap on regular nights so still plenty of free time (like 8-10 hours of twiddling my thumbs per day lolz).

Only thing you ever have to worry about is curved courses. It’s better to go through and make sure you have a solid understanding of the fundamentals rather than do a bunch of review or practice tests (although one or two will help). Beating the curve usually isn’t about working more than others but studying the right material. Polisci does have a ton of reading but you learn to skim. Most of the books you read are 1/10 actual concepts and 9/10 fluff and examples.

If I take the SATs again in November does anyone know if they’ll receive that score? (I’m applying ED)

Yea, they will receive them. Check this out for more info [Penn Admissions: Penn’s Admissions Timetable](http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/timetable.php)

Prospective SEAS ED here. Good luck, everyone!

Leaning towards ED at either CAS or Wharton. Really love the school’s campus and atmosphere! :D

Apply ED to Wharton have about the same chance of getting stuck by lightning while buying a winning lottery ticket as I do getting in, but I am applying anyways.

I’m applying to CAS ED!! so nervous!! its like the last 12 years (but mostly 4 yrs) has cumulated to this moment! i cant believe i even got a cc account… i usually just read stuff here but today i was like, hey why not? ARGH ive been replaying the decision so many times in my head. all i know is that im gonna cry either way. good luck everyone!! Btw- should i report my scores if I got a 4 on three ap exams last year?

Really would like to apply ED at either Wharton or CAS (Preference would be for Wharton but that may be unrealistic)

I’m an international student though.
I still need to do my SAT I in Oktober and then SAT IIs in november, having already sent my application off. I also haven’t gotten round to any of my application yet.

It would probably be wiser to take my time and apply RD, right?

^^ You made an account named upenn2017?? It seems like you’re being a bit too optimistic to me. You have to report all your scores by the way, Penn doesn’t do score choice.

^ No, Penn will still get your scores from November on time. If you start your application soon you should be able to finish it by Nov 1. Here’s a useful timetable to show you when stuff is due [Penn Admissions: Penn’s Admissions Timetable](http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/timetable.php)

^ Thanks. Now I just need to try to ace the SAT first try, so I can take SAT IIs in Nov.

I’m probably more concerned about getting teacher recs. and my essays all done on time.
How long before the deadline should you ask your teachers if they will write one for you? I was planning on waiting until I had my SAT scores before I felt like I could convincingly tell them I wanted to apply for a world-class university like Penn.
I guess if I feel confident of a 2300+ I should probably let them know about my ambitions.

On a more worrying note, I can think of one academic teacher who will be reasonably positive about me, but the other I would be asking is a big risk. Generally he liked me, and I was probably best or second best score in his class. He wrote on my final report that I had an incredibly sharp mind and asked great questions in class. On the other hand he said that he found me frustrating and we did clash quite a few times.
He taught me for two years, in three classes, so he knows me the best of all my teachers. His wife, who also taught me, hates me (literally, not the typical “my teachers hate me” stuff, she refused to teach me at one point), so I’m worried about her influence on him as well.

Then there’s my deputy headmaster, who I spoke to a lot, and who was pretty much my mentor at school. He likes me a lot, and has often said I was unique in my ability to take in information and things like that. When that teacher refused to teach me, he told me I would probably do better on my own anyway.
He offered to write a recommendation for me, regardless of what I do next, at the end of last year.
I would very much like to take him up on that offer, but where would that go? (He never taught me academically, I didn’t take his subject, would he go under counselor or additional rec. ?)

Applying to Huntsman ED! Anyone else??

I am applying ED to seas! Hope I get in…

I’m applying ED! I’m nervous, but excited at the same time! Oh well, we’ll just see if it’s meant to be. This is my first CC post! :)

@dfree124 haha yeah i made this account after deciding to ed to penn… its really bad because i told myself to not love one school, but it just happened. i dont really have control over anything after the application so i guess ill just hope for the best haha

Applying ED to CAS…so anxious. The day before Dec. 15 is gonna be the longest Friday of my life.

It’ll probably be earlier than that. This past year, early decisions were released on December 9th.

^And indeed, December 9th was the longest day of my life.
