Maybe it was the Admissions office and not FA?

If the FA office didn’t send it then hopefully the admissions office did…I doubt it’s a ■■■■■ email since a bunch of people got it and I’m pretty sure they’re not from the same area? Hopefully?

That would suck peanuts if the emails were fake. Again, I doubt it. OH yea I just remembered…some peeps got the same email last year and got in to their schools.

i called and apparently the email didn’t imply admission.

I had an interview with an alumnus on the 4th. According to a Dean, the decisions were sealed on the 5th. Does this mean anything?

decisions were sealed last saturday. The alumni interview items were sealed last friday.

oops, i mispoke, i actually don’t know when alumni interview items were sealed.

^Well said buddy, well said.

As for me, I’m going dark as of the end of today. I don’t wish to be reading and stressing all over CC as the dreaded hour approaches. I’ll leave it at this: good luck to everyone applying to Penn. You are all outstanding applicants, and it doesn’t require a comparison of stats to show that. Every single person who has taken the time to post on CC is special, and will go far in life, regardless of which school any of us end up attending.

I hope that everyone will be happy come 6 pm tomorrow, and (with my fingers crossed), I hope to possibly see you guys someday in person should I be accepted to Penn.

God bless you guys, and goodnight :D

I will also be taking a break from CC until I know my decision (and post it, as promised).

Good to all who applied. Penn may or may not be our home next year, but regardless, we’ll find a place for ourselves and prosper.

Ok guys, I’m signing out till decisions come out. Best of luck to each and every one of you.

Noooo pixels!! I was looking forward to us freaking out on here until the minute decisions come out!!

Lol, 1000 students will have to freak out twice =.=. This is just cruel.

lol…maybe I’ll log off tomorrow. Tonight will be the last night. I shall rejoin (or perhaps, rejoice?) at 6 PM ET tomorrow. haha. But, until midnight ET tonight, I will be in your company.

Good luck everyone!

They really know how to pick the date and time to post results - MIT EA will be posted on 12/15 12:15 pm. lol.

wow almost a thousand posts! simply massive. I love the # 9 so I’ll take #999

Good luck to all!

I went back and looked at the FA message and I have two things to say:

1) I would never lie to freak all of you out. My intentions were not to cause hysteria, and I am truly sorry.

2) Looking at who it was that sent the application, it appears that the FA office did NOT send it because it was sent by eapps@admissions.upenn.edu, and it was sent by Pat Gallagher
Asst. Supervisor Admissions/Operations.

it was that sent the email*

Passed the 1000 mark, yay!

Hi guys, here is an inspirational message from Dean Furda, take it seriously, and remember, you are all beautiful, talented kids, no matter what the decision, we move on and pursue our dreams.
