Penn (24k more) v.s. UT, Miami, Tulane (full-ride)

I just checked and that is the same as my daughter’s school. I had to give them the insurance company name and policy number and request a waiver. They said they would review the policy and then would issue a waiver after the review. Two years in a row they have given the waiver. (knock on wood, do not want to tempt fate).

What the heck, give it a try. What have you got to loose?

txboy13,

You may have seen this already, but here are Penn’s current requirements for alternative health insurance coverage:

I’m no expert, but I’d be surprised if these requirements were more demanding than those at most other schools.

There’s no comparison. UT is simply a decent / good state school in the eyes of most people outside Texas, but nothing more. MOWC is 100% right. There’s a big world outside Texas. You’re fortunate to be able to make this choice. Go to Penn.

As a UT grad, I would choose UPenn over UT for the majors you are describing. The only knock I have against UPenn is that south Philly is a horrible location and very unsafe.

Penn is in West Philly, not South Philly.

I’ve made my decision. And it’s Penn.

Thanks everyone so much for your advices! I am very happy and confident with my decision now!

I will check the details on insurance and hope everything gets better escaping that charge.

Again, thanks a bunch!!!
