PENN admits 3,912 of 18,823 for Class of 2009

Pending use of the waitlist, this projects to a 20.8% admit rate overall, a 60.8% overall yield, and a 48.4% RD yield. The total apps increased 3% over last year’s figure.

Previously, 1,170 of 3420 ED applicants were admitted to fill over 48% of the projected class of 2,420.

If the projected figures hold, both the overall yield rate and the RD yield rate would be down a bit from last year, despite an increase in the percentage of the class filled via ED. For the Class of 2008, 3,878 were admitted from 18,262 applicants, and 2,433 matriculated.
