Penn for International Students

Hi. I'm an international student from Pakistan who'll be applying to UPenn as an Early Decision Applicant. I wanted to know Penn's early acceptance rate for international students. Or the overall acceptance rate for international students since they can't be found anywhere. Someone who has worked for the adcom may know.
Also, how much of a setback will it be for me to apply for Financial Aid since I can't attend without financial assistance.

Not sure about the acceptance rates but it’s usually for low for international students who need aid. Unless you’re from Mexico or Canada, Penn will NOT be need blind for you. Thus, you will have to be very exceptional (moreso than the usual pool) to convince them to accept you + give you money.

Sure they can; it’s on their website

As Penn is need-aware for international students (except Canada and Mexico), requiring financial aid will further diminish your chances.

Thanks for the information! That helped a lot.
How much of a disadvantage will I be at by applying for aid?
Also, I’ve heard that Penn is comparatively less need aware for ED International applicants and is also more willing to offer financial aid to ED applicants. Is this true? If it is, then does it counter the setback mentioned earlier?
As for my credentials, I have a 2290 on my SAT (780 M, 760 CR, 750 W)
Taking SAT Subject tests in a week. Hoping to score around 800 on both Math 2 and Physics.
Although my school doesn’t count GPAs, mine is 4.0. Only got one B throughout high school which was in Urdu (It’s our national language and it doesn’t count towards your GPA). Currently taking General Paper (A writing paper), Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Economics as my A Level subjects. These are some of the most challenging A level subjects. Does that help?
Been involved in student government, public speaking (parliamentary debates and MUNs), community service, foreign language (French DELF A1 and A2) as well as Drama/Theater (cast and crew) to some extent.
Hopefully recommendations will be great. The teachers I asked were extremely willing to write my recs and said it’d be their pleasure.
Considering all of this, do I stand a chance?

It kind of depends on how much aid you need… Think of it this way, will it be worth it for the university to pay whatever amount you need for them to have you? The only special thing you have is that you are from pakistan which may give you a tiny boost but other than that this is going to be very hard. Have you considered some need blind schools?

Yale, Dartmouth and Amherst. But the competition for all of these from my country, even my city and my own school is very strong. Maybe not so much for Amherst but my logic behind applying early to UPenn is that it’s my dream university and Early Decision is my best shot at it. The other option I was considering for Early was Yale but the competition is crazy from my school.

It’s hard to tell since it depends how any students from Pakistan with your stats who won’t need any aid apply ED. Your family’s economics come into play because if Penn’s aid is inadequate, you can’t attend anyways and your question becomes moot.
