Penn Is An Ivy?

Im really confused, is Penn State an Ivy League School?

No, but University of Pennsylvania is.

I hate when people confuse them...same thing with BU and BC. If people ask if i'm going to BC one more time imma scream.

Also, University of Chicago is not University of Illinois at Chicago.

Stanford is not part of the Ivy League. Nor is MIT.

Amherst College is not University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

etc.

I wouldnt say thinking Stanford/MIT are Ivy leagues is as bad.

Iowa is not the Potato State nor home of the Buckeyes.

Trust me, it happens more times than I'd like.

Ponies and foals are two completely different things.

Same confusion exists between Pomona College and Cal Poly Pomona.

And Wash U is NOT in Washington.

My nephew at Wesleyan says he gets- "Wesleyan, I thought that was a girls' school."

i dont get how anyone could confuse UPenn with PSU..its pretty easy to tell the difference between the two

and northwestern is not associated with northeastern, southwestern, etc.

Uhhh, UC Berkeley shouldn't be confused with Berkeley College, Berkeley College of New York City, or Berklee College of Music.

...yeah.

/distinctions

Columbia University is not the same as Columbia College (in Chicago).

Cornell University is not the same as Cornell College.

I hate you :)

UM and UM - Michigan and Miami

CMU - when in the state of Michigan = Central Michigan; CMU = Carnegie Mellon everywhere else

Indiana and Indiana in Pennsylvania(BTW - ***?)

Michigan State and Mississippi State.

A lot of that is just initials though, so it makes sense.

Not to mention UW- Wisconsin and Washington

USC = University of Southern California = Private School = Not that public school in South Carolina!

S.H.I.T. = South Harmon Institute of Technology though
