Does anyone know about the Penn program that allows undergrad nursing students "to submatriculate into the Law School, earning a BSN and Juris Doctorate in six years?"

what kind of job would a BSN and JD get?? can u just use BSN and be a nurse or a JD to be a lawyer afterwards??

plz give any sort of info on this sort of program!! thanks

not familiar with the BSN/JD program at Penn. The only reason to do something like BSN/JD or MD/JD is to go into malpractice law. An MD/JD would be more relevant to that though. Maybe with a BSN/JD you could also look into nursing home law issues, as that is an area that is well known to have problems. You can still practice as a nurse as a BSN/JD, provided you pass the NCLEX-RN, which is the licensing exam for registered nurses. You can practice law with a BSN/JD provided you pass the bar. Remember that with professional degrees like MD/DO, JD, and BSN, the degree gives you the knowledge needed for the profession (or at least to begin in the profession), and the licensing exams allow you to legally practice. So if you decide to go into law with the BSN/JD but don't want to work in nursing, you don't really need to take the NCLEX. I'd do a google search on nurse lawyers and see what comes up.
