Penn SAAST Summer Program

@monsterr no I’ve never done any actual programming before, but I’m excited.

@canon thats a good question…

And for those of you with fb… here ya go

Who’s in biotech? Sorry if someone already asked that…

@canon, I would guess it’s by program just because of things like homework and the fact that we’ll be mostly with the people taking the same classes as us.

does anyone know what they’re packing for the graduation ceremony/in terms of nice clothing?

hey guys im new to this site. im doing computer science too, and i was wondering if anyone had the link to where it tells us what to bring? cant wait!!!

<a href=“Summer Engineering Academy”>Summer Engineering Academy;

Has anyone finished the Penn Key [“Must Do”](<a href=“http://sfs.upenn.edu/mustdo]"Must”>http://sfs.upenn.edu/mustdo) items? I’ve tried going to that site multiple times in the past few days, but the site doesn’t seem to be working. Do I need to finish those things before Sunday?

Haven’t even heard about a “Must Do” list. Where did you get instructions that it was something SAAST students were to do?

Sorry, now I realize what you were referring to, setting up your student ID.

I just went on the site. Mine’s working. Is this the site you were referring to? [Student Financial Services “MUST DO” list for Penn InTouch](http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/mustdo/)

yeah!! that’s it! It’s working now. Thanks!

What’s the selectivity for this program? I got in a while ago but turned it down for yearbook/newspaper camps.

what do you mean? do u mean what criteria do they look at for you to be in the program?

To anyone who has attended this program before- I will be attending this year (Nanotech). How is it?

For people who were accepted into the program:

I have a 3.5 unweighted GPA. In comparison to the 3.8 and above GPA’s that many of you possess, my grades are significantly lower. I took AP Chemistry during my sophmore year and this year I took four AP’s including AP Biology and AP Calculus AB. My volunteer experience involves tutoring and VEX robotics, in which I have participated extensively. Additionally, I shadowed a pediatrician and a general surgeon for approximately 50 hours each.

Do you all have any thoughts about my likelihood of getting in? I’m not sure whether to make that 75$ investment.

If possible, could you provide some tips about application responses and how to make an application look more appealing? This is my second time applying to a competitive program . I was rejected by the first program and I’m looking for ways to write a better form. Any help is really appreciated.

How was nanotech? I am attending it this year.
