Thanks! If you don’t mind me asking what time did you call? Everytime I called the nobody asnwered. I had to leave a message. Also how much did you get? I’m trying to figure out at this time how much financial aid are they giving out. Hope those questions aren’t to personal. Again thanks.

I usually call on weekdays. The times I’ve called and received an answer have been around 12 PM and 3:30 PM. I don’t want to state specifics, but the majority of my tuition was covered–it was need based though. You’ll probably have to pay a good amount ($1000+) of tuition if you get accepted.

I thought the grading was reasonable. I chose a letter grade and ended up with an A- (3.70GPA). I’m glad I did, because I will be attending Penn this fall and it’s nice to have that free credit. Computer programming comes pretty easily to me though, so you might want to ask around some more before you decide - I don’t actually remember much about grading in the other programs. With effort, a B+ in programming was definitely doable for everyone. I probably could’ve gotten an A if I had spent more time on the work, haha.

I did not get a gym membership and I actually don’t know anyone else who did. Those who really wanted to exercise usually got up early in the morning and went for a run. SAAST ensured that we always had something to do.

thanks rachelli for the info.

@nan Thank you that helps so much!

@canon I’m going to robotics! I get the feeling it’s going to be a small class…

Could someone please explain the nanotech schedule for me? I know that there are time slots for 9-12 noon, Lunch, 1-5pm, and Evenings. But are there also classes in the evenings? If so, what time slot do they fit into?

Also, are the planned weekend activities mandatory?

I know on the website it says that you can make a short trip home of the weekends if you live near there. But I think that they really want us all to go on the weekend trips.

Does anyone know when they’re planning on arriving? I’m also trying to decide how much money I want to bring.

@nan, thanks for the info!
@monsterr, I’m planning on arriving at about 2pm, so I would have enough time to move in since the orientation starts at 3pm.

@crazygirl that’s awesome. yeah feeling like a small class. what grade are you gonna be? 11?

Are most students in SAAST rising seniors?

I’m going to be a junior.

I will be a junior…

@monsterr, I’m arriving at around 10:30 (at the airport) and will probably get to the college at 11:30 I guess? Depends on what time they get me from the airport. I’m getting there really early though because it was the only flight I could take that would allow me to be at the college and moved in by 3:00. Also, I don’t really know how much money to take either but I am keeping most of my money on a visa debit card I use, along with some paper money (for laundry and other things I can’t use a card for.)

Also, I’m a rising senior.

I am a rising junior.

I’m actually arriving the day before, but I’m staying in a hotel in the area that night so I could go to the college whenever on Sunday. I’m bringing cash and my debit card as well. I’m going to have so many bags and stuff!

Who else is taking computer science?

@monsterr I’m taking CS. I hope it’s not too difficult. All the programming books and tutorials I’ve looked at makes it looks so confusing.

I’m gonna miss the orientation… there was no way I could get in that early from
Nebraska…

@floppydisk, have you learned programming before? I’ve learned some, but I haven’t learned java.

Any one know how they organize the roommates? Is it by program?
