I'm at Penn State right now. In the Smeal College of Business.
Would it be a good idea to transfer to Baruch College?

If not, what schools should i be thinking of transferring to?
My GPA at the end of 2nd semester should be a 3.6 or 3.7.
High School GPA was a 2.8. (relationships do kill your grades, take it from me).

I have quite a few extracurrics. can get great rec's from professors. no sports though.
I looked at schools such as: UNC, UVA, NYU, USC, Georgetown.
Are those too much of a reach? Remember, colleges like to see progress. (2.8 HS --> 3.7 College)

hey, i was also at penn state and i transferred to columbia university, i think u have a great shot, but ive never heard of baruch college before. im also a 3.0 hs to 3.7 college. WE ARE PENN STATE!! lol

Baruch is a CUNY school in Manhattan, from what I’ve heard they have a really good business program with really driven students which is not as common at PSU. I have really similar stats, and although I didn’t apply to Baruch, after doing a little research I probably would have put it on my list over Binghamton.

@ jlmbtno1 wow that’s amazing, did you have really good EC’s and SAT scores? Did you apply for sophomore or junior standing? I wanted to apply there but didn’t think I had a shot at all.

jimbtno1, you’re not for real lol. PSU to Columbia is a HUGE jump. Looks like I’ll be considering a few more transfers next year haha
just curious, what was your SAT scores? and when did u apply?

AoDay, ‘driven students…not as common at PSU’. it stills blows my mind how PSU ranks like #20 on the u-grad business progrms.

I think it’s partially because its name is so well known through networking with like over 500,000 alumni or whatever the figure was that they bragged about during orientation. I thought Smeal was more around 40 though.
