Penn State C/23 Decisions

Hey, I applied October 1st through the common app. I chose rolling admission. My materials were all in on October 2nd. Some people that applied later than me- October 20th- have their decisions already. What does this mean???

Sometimes things just take longer. My D applied to three rolling admissions schools the same day back in August, penn state being one of them, and she has only heard from two of them. The third is really taking its time. Have you double checked that your application is listed as complete and under evaluation?

Penn State is not a first in, first out kind of process. When you application gets there it gets re routed based on GPA, major applied for, semester applied for, etc…And then it filters down from there. So, two people can put their applications in the same day and get decisions weeks, or months, apart. If you applied Oct 1, you will have a decision by Dec 24. That’s pretty much all PSU promises.

yes, under application status it says “Your application is currently under review. We have received everything required to complete your application. Once a decision is made, it will be posted here.”

Geez mine is still “being verified”

what does that even mean

what does that even mean

@traveldoc07 Being verified means that they are going through your materials to see if you have the required classes for the major selected. They also verify that all materials are in, etc… The next step after that is “under review” which can be as long as from a few days to a few months depending on when you applied and when the deadline for decisions are.

@jlhpsu do you know how long the verification process usually lasts

It depends on your major and your stats. Anywhere from one to four months.

For me, the verification process lasted only a few days (no more than a week)!

Mines still on the verification process after 2 months and I applied for a branch campus and spring semester
