I’m applying for admission for the Spring 2018 as a transfer student to the University Park Campus.
College: Chicago Community College
GPA: 3.93
ECs: President of 2 clubs, tutor, manager at my job
SAT Scores: Not sending because I’ve completed 40 credits to pass the waiver.
HS GPA: 3.36 (Not so good)
What year are you? They don’t generally care about your HS GPA if you are already in college taking college classes. How many credits do you have at the CC that gives you the 3.93. That will matter more than your HS GPA.
Then they won’t look at your high school grades. So you are trying to transfer in for your junior year, correct? Because Penn State does not take transfers during sophomore year. If that is the case then I don’t think you will have any issues.
I mean, if I qualify as a junior, then why not? I will have 60 credits done by the end of this fall semester (in DecemberI , so that should classify me as a junior. Is that correct? @jlhpsu
Yes, that is correct. If you have 60 credits going in then you would be considered a junior. I do not think you will have any trouble transferring in, depending on the major. What major are you wanting to transfer into and have you completed the entry to major requirements for that major? You can only be undecided through Sophomore year.
I have 44 completed right now @jlhpsu I have 16 in progress and they will all transfer. I checked through the credit checker. I’m an economics major, and I’m going to also add political science once I get to Penn State. I have completed the introductory classes needed for economics.
