Applying as a transfer from University of Kansas to University Park College of LAS. I have a 3.2 GPA (I only have one grade that isn’t an A out of the 5 courses within my major however), Political Science major, 1900 SAT/31 ACT, 3.6 HS unweighted GPA, applied after the “deadline” for fall 2014, which I realize only means admission is more competitive when on a rolling basis. If it helps my chances, I have over 50 credits total as a second year (some college courses taken in high school). Lot’s of ECs in high school, fewer in college. I also had a job in the EALC department.
What I’m concerned about:
*average/low college GPA, with the caveat that I’ve taken a lot of non-major classes.
*Applied after November 31 date
*Out of state applicant and university instead of cc
My essays talked about the unique nature of my community and the values I’ve learned from small-town America, as well as the things about Penn State’s program I prefered over the KU political science program in the section about my gap in enrollment.
Let me know if there is anything else I can provide to help you chance me better.
