Penn State vs Drexel

Hi everyone. I have been accepted to both schools for engineering undecided. I didn’t get into either honors college, but I am in the 5 year 3 coop Masters program for Drexel. I am really torn and could use some advice.

Are you in state for PSU? Is cost a consideration?

What’s your parents’ budget?

Can you provide us with this:
(tuition, fees, room, board) - (grants, scholarships) = …
for each college?
DO NOT subtract any loan.

Have you visited both? Do you have a preference for city or rural? I lived in both State College and now Philly and if you lean either way then it should play a part in your decision.

Does the Drexel program give you a head start on getting the qualifications for the PE exam over PSU? I believe some of their programs do.

In many ways it boils down to – do you want the traditional college experience (Penn State) or are you excited by the opportunity to work/earn money/forge your career while you’re still in college (Drexel).

Well I’m not sure it’s that cut or dry as you can do co-ops at PSU and Drexel has a traditional college experience as well with dorms and sports teams and fraternities, etc.

^ very true but they do affect college experience.

Cost is a likely primary criterion so hopefully OP will answer.

The two schools represent very different college experiences. If both are affordable, go with your personal preference. I know people who have been very happy at both schools.

What’s your budget? Drexel is very expensive, even with financial aid.

Hey everyone sorry for taking so long. At this moment Drexel seems like the best choice because Penn state gave me no money and I have about $30,000 a year at Drexel. I have also been wait listed for Lehigh because of “lack of interest” so I am unsure if I need to pursue that now.

If anyone has any advice about throwing Lehigh into the pool please share.
