Why is Penn State asking me to self report my middle school grades?

Not sure why but if you don’t you will be denied.
they are allowing you to self-report middle school grades in the event they are relevant – for example, if you had upper level math or language as an 8th grader.
you will not be denied if you do not report them – unless you took someing as a middle school student that is required for entrance, and leave it off. Even then, I imagine in this first year of self-reporting there will be generous amounts of re-do’s for those who weren’t sure about the instructions.
You should report high school classes taken in middle school : typically, one or more fron algebra 1, geometry, biology, physical science, foreign language level 1, foreing language level 2. Don’t forget to indicate if they are honors since it matters to estimate rigor.
