<p>I really want to join Penn Symphony as a violinist. Does anyone know how hard/selective it is to get into the Orchestra?</p>

<p>Besides, if you can't get into the Penn Symphony, you can always join the Curtis Institute Symphony 15 blocks away. :D</p>
<p>if my violin skills are above-average at best (i was usually a shoo-in for the regional high-school orchestra, no chance at all-state, and haven't been in the school orchestra for 2 years)... what types of orchestral opportunities am i looking at in college? streetcorners?</p>
<p>My D plays in the Penn Symphony and it sounds pretty good to me and has been getting better (like everything else at Penn) over the years...</p>
