Penn???

Hello fellow upenn hopefuls. I was deferred from the early decision round and was wondering what my chances were on being admitted during the regular phase. I go to an extremely competitive school on Long Island (you can imagine), which has tons of penn applicants every year. I would appreciate if anyone knew that was the percentage of students that were deferred are admitted to the college for regular decision.

My stats:
96 GPA (UNWEIGHTED), we do not weight averages and we use a 100 point scale. For example, we are given averages out of 100 and then they are all averaged at the end of the year. A 90-100, B 80-89, etc
9 Honors courses taken, 10 AP courses (4 junior year courses)

Senior year courses
AP Physics
AP Calculus BC
AP Eng Language
AP Economics (micro, macro)
AP Spanish Language
AP Psychology

SAT: 1450
SAT IIs: 730 (writing), 720 (Math IC), 700 (US History)

Good Extracurriculars which i will not be able to list all of them at this time b/c when i tried to copy and paste my resume, the format got all messed up but I am apart of many clubs (have an active role in many) and president of one organization that I started at my school (community service organizion) and Captain of the Tennis team
-staff writer for the school newspaper
-have won many tennis tournaments, have been ranked in the east for two years in singles and doubles
-have done a lot of community service--peer tutoring and volunteer work
-have done research outside of school, entered my project into Intel and Siemens Westinghouse
-have played in outside orchestras and have played the violin for many years
-apart of Model UN and Math Team, have won some awards

What are my chances for getting into penn regular after being deferred, and into columbia, cornell, duke, wash u, j hopkins, brown, northwestern, Rice, and i have applied to some safeties ( have been accepted to U of Michigan--Honors Program, and University of Wisconsin-Madison)

THANKS

my senior grades are as follows. We do not show semester averages but we show quarter averages ( so there are 2 quarters of my senior year out of 4 that colleges will see)

AP Calculus BC AA
AP Physics AB
AP Eng Lit AA
AP Economics (micro, macro) AA
AP Spanish Lang AA
AP Psychology AA

I would really appreciate some input here!!! Thanks

Well, ypu are considered a "qualified candidate" at any of those schools and therefor have a decent chance. However, whats important to remember that with 10 kids with sats like yours applying for each spot it ends up being a roll of the dice. My s was rejected at PENN and Columbia with stats like yours but as you can see by PENN's profile stidents with your profile are often accepted. He was accepted at Tufts, NYU, BU and chose the latter as they also offered an Honors Program and merit scholarship. So its hard to say what will happen. You could get in and have to work really hard in a stretch school so if worst case scenario is that you end up at a Safety you may want to at least apply for an Honors Program. There are usually many perks including reserach opportunbites and the best dorms.

thank you for your input. I was actually accepted to the University of Michigan Honors Progam and do not know too much about it.
