PennKey coming

So i can estimate the date that packet will arrive (it's rainy season here in my country). Thx upandcomer.

what's going on? I haven't received my PennKey and I live in DE which is only 45 minutes away from the school? Did most of the people get their keys yet?

Weird. I should have gotten it on Friday (live in Jersey, two days to get from Philly to here).

YAY! got mine today

hmm i havent gotten any penn love in the mail lately... my pennkey is from when i first started taking classes like two years ago

Are PennKey names usually similar to AOL screen names, such as Quaker09, or are they more serioius, like first initial and then last name? I just don't want to do it one way and find out almost everyone does it another way. For those who have already created their PennKeys, can you tell me what your PennKey is? Thanks.

they give you options
and they're all based off of your name, so you can't do something like quaker09

Thanks alot. What can we do with our PennKey as of now?

i just got mine.

so if someone was to email me would it be to mypennkey@upenn.edu?

Depending on the school (SAS, SEAS, etc), the addresses are different. For me, it's: pennkey@sas.upenn.edu.

you can actually get an e-mail now (i got to the "create e-mail" thing through the dining services site.. heh.. but it's only temporary and you can't actually access an "inbox" or anything)

it only forwards stuff as of now to another e-mail address, but hey! facebook!!!

also you can sign up for a meal plan. apparently the most common/preferred one is the liberty one

and um.... you can browse stuff.

You will have to set up your email. Plus, with your Pennkey, you can apply for your campus Penncard and even upload a digital picture that will be used for you Penncard, unless you would rather wait to get to school and let them take your picture (you know how those turn out :) )!!!!!
You can choose your meal plan. You can watch your housing assignment (once they add it into the system). You can enroll in your classes, etc. etc.

I can't wait! This week? fingers crossed

Once you guys and gals get your Pennkey, here is the link to Penn's Campus Express that will let you do almost everything (housing, dining, Penn bookstore)

http://campusexpress.upenn.edu/

when do we hear our housing assignment?!

June 1st apparently!!

I want my PennKey to come so badly! But I just got my rejection notice from Yale today...postmarked April 1. I hate being in a foreign country when I'm expecting important mail!

What food plan is everyone going to sign up for and why? I have no idea what to get. Also, is anyone gonna bring a TV to Penn. I don't wanna be anti-social but I do like having a TV in my room. Does Penn offer cable TV?

I suggest either the 270 meal plan or the 320 (I don't know what they're calling them this year, but that's the number of meals per year).. I had 320 first semester and since I lived in hill I used a good number of hte meals up.. 2nd semester I switched to 270 because I was sick of hill food and mostly lived off of dining Dollars.. you do have 2 weeks ot swtich in the beginning of the semester, but just know you will eat less in the dining halls as the year goes on.

As for TV, almost everyone I knew had a TV.. penn provides cable TV to every room, so most people had at least a little 13in tv set up.. We didn't watch it alot, but it was nice to have. Also, I knew some people whose parents wouldn't let them bring a TV (they felt it would be too distracting).. so they got TV Tuner cards for their computers and turned their laptops/desktops into TVs. I would also suggest a DVD player, and possible a DVD/VHS combo for when you want to record a show.
