So in looking for what college I should attend next year, I have narrowed it down to 2 choices: PennState or UMass Amherst.
I would be paying out-of-state tuition for both schools, although UMass would still be a bit cheaper. But PennState is typically ranked higher than UMass Amherst. I’m not a sports fan so the athletics at each school would not influence my decision.
I have visited both schools. I like that UMass is a bit smaller than PennState, but I also feel like a degree from PennState would be better than a degree from UMass Amherst. Any opinions?

If u don’t enjoy sports, go to UMass.
I am currently an undecided major. And my parents would probably have to take out loans anyway but they’ve told me not to worry about the price of each school
Even though your parents told you not to worry about the cost of each school, you should be mindful of prices. If your parents would take out loans, be considerate and choose the cheapest option.
Parental loans are generally a bad idea (especially if you have younger siblings who may go to college). Do you have any lower cost options that would not require parental loans?
