I'm stongly considering going to Vanderbilt, but I have one reservation. I have heard alot about the students being stuck up and exclusive. Is this actually the case? What about in rush/sororities?

from my experience with visiting and having friends there...i dont think that alot of the students are that stuck up, i mean every school has its crowds that are stuck up but i dont think its any more than any other school...you should definitely apply there and they schedule a visit so you can experience it yourself, because everyone has their own opinion(i mean right now i attend an extremely small rich public school where the students drive BMWs and wear juicy and have coach bags so i mean to me vanderbilt isnt that bad)

The answer is no. Although that crowd exists (mostly from some rowdy frats/sororities), there are many many students there on scholarship (something like 50-60% of students receive financial aid) and I've developed a strong base of friends around them. If "stuck upness and exclusivity" is your only concern about Vanderbilt, just go. I'm having the time of my life.
