people tell me to read but are there any rules i can memorize for the english test. people say to read. but i am also looking for some good rules to use on the act to raise my english score a little bit. i only got a 23 on my first practice test.
what should i read. a certain book. a article from a certain newspaper. any help will be appreciated.

i remembered rules. first time i took the act i got a 25 on english, then after remembering rules i got a 34. just use a really good prep book with a really good english section. that'll help. i had a really good english teacher though.

any thing you can tell me like comma, colon, semi-colon usage. What about when to use the different types of theirs

Comma usually separates an independent clause from a dependent one, or it can separate two independent clauses joined by a conjunction(I just typed one).

Ok instead of me telling you all the stuff, for the sake of accuracy, I suggest you read the ACT book from Sparknotes.

Anyway, there are couple of techniques that I always keep to myself. Be concise and eliminate redundancy. Those questions are guaranteed to appear on the test.
