People to People

About the only way that adcoms will take P2P into account favorably is if you write in an essay about how the experience had such a profound effect on you that P2P turned your life around in some way. It helped bring clarity to what contribution you want to make to the college you attend and to society. In other words, you have to take ownership of your P2P experience and accept responsibility for whatwever you get out of that experience.

You pretty much have to sell P2P to adcoms, which IMHO, is way too much work. Just listing it on your application will mean absolutely nothing to anyone, unless an adcom has a personal interest in the program.

It's not that People to People is bad, but just recognize that it is a commercial enterprise that has little or no special impact on a college application.

What I believe will enchance your application is participaing in something that is of true interest to you. I don't think it matters if it is a nationally recognized program or not. If you put something down on your application that is not somehow connected to one of your passions or future area of study, then it might appear as if you are padding your resume.

What are your interests and/or potential are of study in college?
