I’m sorry, but I don’t remember you ever being the Grim Reaper. How in the hell do you get the power to compromise my health and shorten my life a bit? Of course I know that I’m going to die and everyone else will, but why would you rush your death? I’m still going to wear my seat belt, I’m still going to try to eat healthy, I’m still going to get adequate sleep.

The reason why you should step outside (not saying that you should leave the place completely) is because it’s affecting my health! I guess when people are infected with the flu they should be able to go places and infect others “because we’re all going to die anyway.” or let pyromaniacs set fire to places “because we’re all going to die anyway.” or let those with severe mental issues let out their pent-up anger by shooting up their fellow classmates “because we’re all going to die anyway.”

There’s a TOTAL DIFFERENCE from you smoking and me in a car. I ride in a car to make life easier, you smoke because it’s an addiction. Do you smoke to get to work? Smoke to get to class? Smoke to go to a family member’s house? A car is a necessity for the average American. Smoking is not. When you smoke, you knowingly put yourself in danger. You know that there’s a high possibity of you develpping lung cancer. If you develop health problems, it’s entirely your fault. You don’t NEED to smoke. Yes, it’s a hard habit to break, but your life won’t be significantly limited if you give up smoking. Everyone doesn’t joyride, everyone doesn’t drive like maniacs, everyone doesn’t text and drive, those are uping your chances in a wreck. Most people want to get from Point A to Poin B in one piece. Now, if someone gets into a car accident, I can feel remorse for them because they may have been driving responsibly and been a victim of circumstances. Smoking and driving are risks you take in life but what do you gain out of smoking? Relaxation? There’re thousands of safer ways to relax but there aren’t many options as convenient, fast, and accessible as driving.

Yes, living in the city, you do inhale polluted air but does that mean I’m going to go to a radiation plant and inhale all of the fumes they produce? I eat junk food and fast food but it doesn’t mean I’m going to eat McDonald’s for breakfast everyday for 20 years; I eat it in moderation. I could get an STI from my first boyfriend but that doesn’t mean I’m going to have sex with the cutest stranger I see. Just because Jonny was lucky into not getting lung cancer and he smokes a pack a day doesn’t mean I’ll share the same luck. Of course I know some people live healthy lives and die young, but how can this justify you increasing your chances of dying from the same thing they died from? Cautious people die in house fires but I won’t leave a candle burning while I sleep because of this. Innoncent people are attacked by dogs but I won’t walk by the junkyard where the dogs come inches away from tearing your arm off.

How in the world is banning public smoking “devestating” the economy? I can understand bars letting in smokers since it’s more of a laid-back, open atmosphere like a party but when you have young children involved and environments inappropriate for that sort of activitiy indoors, you shouldn’t do that.

Again, YOU cause the problem, so YOU need to step out. Are you saying that if children are rambunctious in the grocery store, you should have to leave because you have the right? If someone’s talking very loudly on the phone behind you in line while your baby’s sleeping, you need to leave or deal with it? Again, why would you knowingly put yourself in a dangerous situation when the benefits are little or there’re smarter options available? Are you seriously THAT dense? My god, I’ve met some characters over the Internet but you top them all.

If you’re ever met at gunpoint with anyone or are about to be raped, I hope you have the same nonchalant mindset.
